THE ART OF
LAYERING
Maison Label fragrances are designed to be used alone and combined through the layering technique, which allows you to create an olfactory signature without limits. Discover the tips for a perfect layering experience.
WHAT IS LAYERING?
"Layering" is the art of combining different perfumes to create a unique fragrance. Originating in Mesopotamia, this ancient tradition was part of sacred rituals, blending essential oils long before the advent of alcohol and modern perfumery. Various cultures embraced this practice to craft personalized scents.
WEAR JUST ONE
OR LAYER THEM ALL
Layering lets you wear multiple fragrances simultaneously to create a limitless, personal olfactory signature, where your skin is the final ingredient.
Maison Label’s perfumes, whether worn alone or layered, celebrate contemporary fine perfumery offering a collection of vibrant scents for those who value rare raw materials and the chance to craft a bespoke fragrance by blending the artistic creations in the collection.
TIPS FOR A PERFECT
LAYERING EXPERIENCE
1. There is no right or wrong in fragrance layering, it is an art of finding what is perfect for you.
There are no rules in layering. Experiment, take risks, and find your perfect combination. Fragrance layering is an art of self-expression. Maison Label fragrances are specially designed to offer a unique opportunity for personalization by blending different scents.
2. Use your body's hot pulse points and clothes for a tridimensional fragrance.
Layering doesn't necessarily mean applying multiple perfumes on the same spot. To create a multidimensional fragrance, apply different scents on various pulse points: wrists, behind the ears, neck, inner elbows, chest, torso, behind the knees, and even on clothing.
3. Start with the heavier fragrances and add then lighter fragrances over them to enhance the olfactory notes of both families.
Start with the heavier fragrances in the collection and complement them with lighter ones to enhance the notes of both. This helps prevent overshadowing the fresher notes. Lighter fragrances are easier to layer, while intense and noir scents should be applied sparingly.
4. Use the same amount of sprays you do as usual for a better performance and experience.
The total number of fragrance sprays combined should usually be the same as when applying a single fragrance. For optimal results, depending on your desired effect and environment, aim for an average of 8–10 sprays in total.
